Are you an optimist or a pessimist?
I tend to call myself a realist which, truth be told, means I am more than a little bit of a pessimist. I prefer to be prepared for the worst and then be pleasantly surprised if things go well rather than expecting things to go great and then be disappointed.
So my glass of girl would tend to be more on the empty side.
Started with a doodle on an envelope. . .
colored her in. . .
then collaged her into a 1962 "Air Is All Around You" book.
Weird - but it is how I roll.

great idea and food for thought. Happy PPF, Annette x

That's my kind of doodle! Love how you incorporated it into something thought provoking. She has a beautiful face.
ReplyDeleteGreat doodle! I like her.
ReplyDeleteI've used this quote before because I love it ...so true!! I'm a realist, however I try to live in the moment using my intuition and wisdom to forge on... My cup is half full because I am always in a state of gratitude... the other stuff I just deal with.... It's complex though because as I've aged I worry a bit more than I used too!! Sounds like a contradiction doesn't it!! lol
ReplyDeleteWonderful artwork, very thought provoking post!

I worry less now about certain things and life has become more fun. I usually think on the positive side, especially when it comes to fixing things around the house! I can do it, is my motto. There are certain people however, I am pessimistic about, because of their track record and they let me down. I guess, I am also a realist!
ReplyDeleteI think I have seen that book, or at least on just like it! We are studying air in my classroom!
Funny idea about the glass being full of girl!
I think of myself as optimistic, and I often am ... then I listen to myself, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI like giggles' idea, there's always room for more!
fun use of collage!
I'm more of an optimist. I have found that if I expect the best, more often than not, I get it. Positive thinking is very powerful. :-) Michelle, I love how you've collaged right into a book. It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea...I noticed your long face drawing on Balzer's link party! Love your work!

i think i'm like you, a bit of a realist!! very nice drawing. happy PPF
ReplyDeleteLove your work as always. Love what you've done with the doodle and the thoughts.
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks like a wonderful little book! And your girl fits perfectly into the glass. I tend to be an optimist, and even though it sometimes leads to disappointments, I can't help myself, it's just the way I'm wired I guess ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove it! The half full glass, girl and quote work so well together
ReplyDeleteShe looks terrific on the bold yellow background! How about this one: I am positive outwardly but pessimistic inwardly. People tend to see me as a cheerful type but if I read too much about terrible people in the news I get rather down. So, I'm trying to find more positive stories. And do more art. And visit other people's art. :)
ReplyDeleteSo imaginative - love that face too. I have always been a visual person and often my words (feelings) are described in verbal pictures. Really love this
ReplyDeletelove the quote!
ReplyDeleteLove the quote, the book, the doodle - everything! Very unique!
ReplyDeleteI am a glass half full type of person. Really like this art.
