Illustration Friday - POWER

The topic at Illustration Friday this week is POWER.  As an avid reader I can testify to the power of the written word.  When a book or character stays alive within you once the story is finished you've experienced the power of a well-spun tale.
I've always been a great admirer of authors - their imaginations, the ability to create and populate entire worlds and to make it believable to the reader - believable to the point that we cry at the demise or misfortune that a favorite character encounters.
Do you find literature powerful??

  1. She's so pretty! I absolutely believe in the power of writing words myself in my dairy. I am not an author at all...I only have a tiny idea for a children's book ;-)
Have a good start in this new week - Irma

  5. Of course! And you've just reminded me I haven't done any reading in ages. I think one of these days I'll pick up a book again and be reading like a fiend. Well, balancing that with working on drawing skills, I hope. :)

  6. I can identify. There are some books that I will always remember and keep. It is so amazing how certain people can use words to capture our hearts, imagination and dreams!

I love the simplicity of your girl and the "colour", and once again the use of the labelling tape! I will have to dig out my old labeler again.
