Baby Penguin -

This baby penguin makes me happy!! These are the very first A Muse images we got at Serendipity back in January of this year. I had so much fun making lots of projects with them. I made cards, bookmarks, post-it holders, cocoa packet holders, a gift bag, 1/4 sheet notecards and little treat bags -
To this day the large skinny oval is one of my most favorite A Muse stamps - so versatile! I use it all the time!

Road Trip!!!

Kim and I headed off to the wilds of Mt. Juliet, TN on Saturday to attend the Jenni Bowlin Open House - we had such a good time! Jenni is very nice and she and Kim had lots to talk about! There were loads of great vintage things for sale - My favorite purchase was 3 sheets from an old ledger dated 7/1/1863!!! Several of the line entries are hoop skirts!

We asked the front desk guy to take our pic with the sign - We were not the first ones that day to do so! Apparently his finger got tired cause the pic is pretty blurry - - -

After we left Mt. Juliet we headed to Clarksville to Memories in Bloom - Nichole Heady of Papertrey Ink fame lives nearby and this is the ONLY retail location you can buy her stuff from outside of the website. I was looking at the PTI samples when I realized that these are the actual ones that Nichole made herself for her blog! That explains my crazed look - Nichole does that to me!
Kim and I had a great time - hope to do it again soon!!

Cupcake Social!!!

Tomorrow is the Cupcake Social - Kim and Randy have so many great things planned! I will have a fun Make & Take that includes a Copic Marker demo - I know many of you have lots of questions about these fabulous markers. There will be a drawing for a beautiful handmade tote filled with loads of great papercrafting items. There will be a "decorate your own cupcake" table. Roni Ramsey will be teaching a fun cupcake related class at 2PM (Roni is also the seamstress of the tote - I have one and LOVE it so much!).
Here's some paper cupcakes to start the fun!

Elephant & Baby

I've been playing with my Copic Markers - I still have a LONG way to go but this image is a good place to start- I used my Classic Rectangle Nestabilities to cut and emboss on the pink card. I used a felt flower and a Maya Road Sheer Blossom (I ran it through my Xyron and dumped glitter on top - LOVE it!!) - both these types of flower are available at Serendipity!
I think the soft blue card is so cute - wish I'd had cards like this when my boys were babies!!

Caleb's Rock Star!

Caleb loved the "Rock Star" stamp I brought home from Seattle. He decided to make his own card - Here is the front - He used the Fiskars Threading Water punch all around the outside edges to make it look "rock stary-ish". He colored the dude with Copic markers and signed his name with a flourish (no, they haven't covered cursive in 2nd grade yet - he needs to work on the "a" a little)

The inside has lots of little strips of paper that are supposed to make you think of guitar strings (nice touch, huh?)

Hello - House

I just love the simplicity of this card - "Think Simple, Think A Muse" -
I colored with my Copic Markers- maybe a gray house doesn't rock everyone's boat but it makes me happy - If you look closely you can see where I outlined the house and trees with my Cool Shadow marker (BG10). Makes a big yet subtle (sounds weird but it is true!) difference when the card is finished!
Stamps - A Muse 2-7011E House & Trees, 9-8248B Just saying hello
Ink - A Muse Black Dye
Paper - A Muse Square notecard in Lime Peel - band

Truck Shot -

The group shots are starting to trickle in from our training weekend in Seattle - This is where we all climbed onto Linda's husband's old truck that was parked in front of the shop - Don't think that truck will ever be the same again!! (I couldn't get my little typing box to work for some reason, hence the spraypainted label - LOL!!)

I picked up this stamp in Seattle for my 7-year old, Caleb - He loves all things guitar and his rock 'n roll name is - "Crud" - (hee hee). Anyway- This is a VERY simple card - since it is a masculine card I left off all ribbon but did add a few twinkle stars!

Home from Seattle!

IT training weekend was a blast!! I learned so much and met so many cool, talented and smart chicks - Here are a couple of pics - I'll post more when I get a chance - Friday started out with Copic Marker Certification - WOW!! Those markers are so versatile - can't wait to show you some tricks (I need lots more practice though). This pic is of me, Marianne Walker is on the right. She is the uber talented Copic trainer - Do you recognize the person on the left - Ellen Hutson! She arrived for an after class meeting with Marianne and I can see a photo op from a mile away!!

Me and Julie - Can you believe it??!! She is so warm and funny - super enthusiastic - all the things you think she would be - AND more!!

This is my girly group - Dawn, Kamilla, Liz, me. We had a great time!!!
Look who else is at our table!!! Linda Carnell the founder/owner of A Muse!!! Her passion for what she does just shines through -

New Clear Sets

LOOK!! Two new clear stamp sets from A Muse! Cupcakes are so popular right now - I can't wait to play with this set - All the cupcakes you want - NO CALORIES!!!

It is only 2 more days until I leave for my trip to Seattle - I'm very excited and a little nervous too - While I've flown lots of times, I've never flown across country by myself! I won't know what to do for multiple hours solo!
Friday is Copic Marker Certification training, followed by the Cupcake Social. Saturday and Sunday is A Muse IT (Instructor Training). I am SO excited for this opportunity and I'm going to soak in all I can and then come back and share!!
In the meantime to prep for the long plane ride - I'm checking out books from the library, Corey has supplied me with Sudoku puzzles and I'm going to try to catch up on balancing the checkbook (exciting!!) - who knows, maybe I'll even take a nap! Stay posted for Seattle pics coming up soon!!

Sneak Peak - November's Class

Here is one of the cards that we'll be making in the Coffee Break class - It is fun cause the front is punched and the coffee mug is stamped on the inside! Super easy to do but a little different from your normal card - The Coffee Break stamp set is acrylic and in the class you will get your own set (11 images and sentiments) and we will use ALL the stamps in it!

Palm Tree Bag

This is the class I taught back in July - Today's high is only going to be in the 40's so I needed to remember when it was warm! I loved making this simple bag - it held 2 cards that had embossed rectangles on the cover - It makes such a difference to emboss the cards - such a easy step that really jazzes it up! The two notecards are simply stamped on a 1/4 sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. This type of simple notecard is what I keep handy for teacher notes or quick thank you's. Naturally, the 4 envelopes are stamped too!! My favorite thing is the sentiment - "Have a Splendiferous Day!"

Happy Mermaid!

Well - here she is~~~ My first AMuse image - the mermaid. My SIL Jen got her for me and I love to use this stamp! I've stamped her on shimmery white paper and embossed the edges with my Classic Rectangle Nestabilities. I colored her with Koh-i-noor Pencils and shimmered her tail, shells and flower with a Gelly-roll pen - I outlined her with a Copic marker to kinda get that "in the ocean" look. Kim sells this pretty aqua shimmery paper in the store but I unfortunately cut that part off when I made the card - doesn't that just about figure?!
Quick, fun card!

A Muse 8-8347B Just a Note

First Post -

Hi - I'm starting a stamping blog -
I'm going to feature cards and projects that I'm making for Serendipity - The is a picture of a class I taught earlier in the year featuring A Muse stamps - they are such easy stamps to work with - The teabag actually holds 4 teabags! Fun to make - I copied the look of an actual teabag (took several tries to get the top fold right - I'll admit it!) I paper-pieced the saucer to match and masked off the bottom to stamp the oval for shadow.
Stamps - AMuse 2-7146D Cup & Saucer
AMuse 8-8465B Cup of Tea
Accessories - Scallop and Classic Rectangle Nestabilities
