The problem with the world is. . .

Quick sketch with a black Stabilo pencil - did you know that Dina Wakley calls these "magic pencils"?
Look what happens when a little bit of water is added!  The pencil is designed to mark on most surfaces including glass and does amazing stuff when melted with the water.
First layer of paint added with paint markers.
Hair was colored with Neocolor Crayons - I always return to these fabulous sticks of water-soluble color!  Finished up by writing the quote with Gelli Roll Pen and Stabilo pencil.
She looks a bit creeped out by the tired critter (I filed down those dangerous, sharp teeth!)

    I love those Neo Colors as well. They are especially great when you use bold lines as you have done here. She is beautiful and the little monster is sweet.

    Would you believe that I've had a Stabilo-marker since a few months and still didn't use it ....? Now you've inspired me ;-) I love your girl, and the quote by Bukowski is fantastic!

    Sad, but yes the quote is so true - and she's quite captivating. Love the colours as well. I'll have to get myself some of those magic crayons - still building my stash of art supplies (it'll never end will it?)

    I've recently used stabilo water soluble markers in my work but haven't tried the pencil yet. Will have to check that out. This is a compelling painting and I love her expression of bewilderment.

    Stablo pencils.. I've used one called Fountain pens.. which you blend out with water.. but I don't know if they do the same work..

    I haven't heard of the Stabilo Marker pencil, but I shall look out for it now, it sounds exciting. As for the Neocolour Crayons, I keep reading about them on people's blogs, but resisting yet another kind of medium to add to the ever-growing pile, but seeing your lovely lady I think I'm about to give in and buy some.
