"Bad hair" sisters

What do you do when you can't think of something to write about your picture?  You could ask your husband and he would say, "I thought I was having a bad hair day - now we can have a bad hair day together!"
Seriously?  Their hair was my favorite part of this page!!  Obviously, not my husband's though.  LOL
At least I am caught up with the 29 Faces challenge now - these two are #5 & 6.

Illustration Friday - EXOTIC

More crinkly watercoloring in my moleskine notebook -
I consider pink, yellow, orange and blue hair to be exotic, do you?

#3 - 29 Faces - Asian Money hair. . .

At first glance this girl looks as if she has paper pieced hair - but things are not always what they seem. . .
Started with a pencil sketch and inspiration that I got from this pin on Pinterest.
Taped the page down with some washi tape (removable paper tape) and cut out the hair areas out with an X-acto knife.
Glued down some faux money I picked up while in Seattle and made a paper sandwich.
The Moleskine paper is so thin that you can see the "money" through it but if it were a bit thicker you'd never notice.  This technique is much easier than paper piecing - give it a try!

29 Faces - Stripey Face

Are you doing the 29 Faces Challenge?  I had decided that I didn't have time to do it this round - the same thing happened last September.  But then I saw today so many of my favorite bloggers joining in that I grabbed my pencils/watercolors and made a quick girl.
Not sure if I can make all 29 faces but I'm going to give it a shot - maybe if I make all of them in my Moleskine journal it will be easier - we'll see.  BTW - watercolors in moleskine = crinkly paper!

Her Demure Disguise. . .

Her demure appearance was her best disguise as no one noticed the riot of tumultuous feelings she was able to successfully conceal within.

Doodled girl painted and sketched in a new Moleskine Journal.  Look Kim -PINK!

Doodlers Anonymous Bookmark

I've been a voracious reader for as long as I can remember - always have loved being transported to other times and places on the wings on a great story - laughing and crying along with my favorite characters that live with you long after the tale is over!
When Doodlers Anonymous announced their 2nd bookmark contest I just had to throw my hat (or bugs) into the ring.  If you want to check out the amazing entries go HERE.  A huge thanks if you decide to give mine a FAVE!
Either way - feel free to print this out and use it to save your place in the book you are currently reading!
