Art Journal - Leaves

Decided to try my hand at drawing/watercoloring some leaves.  I've only ever watercolored on actual watercolor paper but this time I painted directly into my journal.  A thick layer of GOLDEN Absorbent Ground allows your watercolors to soak into regular or gessoed paper.  Cool!
Very different from painting on watercolor paper but was a fun experience.  The ground gave a fun texture that wouldn't have been there otherwise.

That is just cool, Michelle. Bigger, hung on wall...decor at its finest!

(Can you tell I'm thinking about decorating my new house.... ;) Your journal is amazing!)

Oooh! So pretty! I can see so much texture and you did a great job with the shading. I'm off to Blick tomorrow, and I think some of that absorbent ground medium will be finding it's way to my house!
