"Bird with Crown" canvas

Today was a "painty" day!!  I love a "painty" day!!  Kim and I started warming up by doing Dina Wakley calisthenics which involved painting/stamping on tags and playing with patterned paper.  We decided that our theme would be "birds" -
As a twist I decided to paint my bird on a smaller canvas (4" square) and then mount that onto a larger background canvas (8" x 10").  Funky, fun dimension -
Do you agree that crowns are a good look for birds?  Jazzes up an everyday ensemble.   I had on a gray sweater today and I think that a crown/tiara would've been the perfect finishing touch. . .
Supplies included Martha Stewart and Golden acrylic paints, old book paper, Tim Holtz Tissue tape, A Muse Washi tape, spray inks, stencils, canvases, cardstock and rub-ons.

OOOOH! love it! And you have a crown! Why the heck don't you wear it every time you create?! I'd wear it to the grocery store. Just sayin'.

I love the added dimension you have created - very cool. Tiara's are a must in our house hold of princesses. They are the very thing to brighten up your day, or add the finishing touch to any outfit - including pyjamas!

So much fun! I love the way your canvases turned out, and the crown is the perfect touch! Those warm up exercises from Dina Wakely are just ticket to get your creative juices flowing! It was a wonderful painty day!

Adorable, Adorable, Adorable! I made a crown with a couple other friends and wear mine often when I'm creating or homesick. Birds need them too...I'm sure.

Clever, fun, whimsical and such a good idea to layer the canvases. How did you attach it? The overall piece is SO cool.
