Illustration Friday: HURRY!

"We are like butterflies who flutter for a day and think its forever" - Carl Sagan
That's a problem of mine - I see butterflies and think they need to hurry - they have so much to do and so little time.  They, however, seem perfectly content fluttering slowly from flower to flower taking their time and enjoying the day.  I'm thinking I could learn a lot from a butterfly.
Inspired by the Illustration Friday theme of Hurry! this very simple art journal page has no paint!  Just stamped images, sticker letters, the "hurry" section from my French dictionary and Washi tape.  So simple - black, white and cream - I like it.

Hi Michelle
Just read your article on Julie's blog - it was like you were talking straight to me across the Atlantic - I am just that very crafty person who never thought I could "do art" - and just like you here am on a journey !
I have been trying to learn to draw - deep breath, pick up pencil - actually place pencil on page (see no clap of thunder or lightening bolt at me daring to presume I can be an artist !) and draw some lines. Keep trying & trying - and hopefully something recognisable will start to come out !!! And then why not go the whole hog & try some watercolours !!
So far just doing paintings of the plants in my garden - trying to pluck up courage to attempt a small scene !!

So brilliant to hear your words & have them strike such a chord with me !

Michelle, i LOVE the simplicity in this - the limited color palette, the black lines. Just beautiful. I don't know why, but it makes it seem even more fragile to me. Really love it. You have a knack with composition and knowing how to arrange your artwork so that it's even more interesting. Lovely work. xoxo

We definitely need to pay more attention to other creatures of nature and learn from them. Nice collage!
