Mermaid Girl -

Look - a mermaid!  I realize now in retrospect that her tail should have been further down towards the bottom of the page.  Since this was my first mermaid I will chalk it up to lack of experience with having a tail.  This is what the husband had to say:
COREY - "Looks like she just got assaulted by a tuna."
The colors were inspired by the current Play Date Cafe Challenge.
ME (matter of factly) - "She sure is green."
COREY (patiently) - "That's because she is young."
I do love all the shimmer the gold paint adds to her hair - what, though, if you want to seal her face to prevent another mishap of her falling into some water on the kitchen table and smearing all the black (that was NOT a good experience)!
VOILA - Just make a paper mask and seal her face - leaving all the shimmery details intact!

Your husband's comments make me laugh. I think she looks beautiful and with that gold hair she is very striking. Matte finish is a life-saver for me. I use it all the time.

Well, skipping the tuna part - THIS IS AMAZING. 1) You are so talented. 2) Perfect take on the challenge - that gold is so important. 3) Her eyes really seem to convey the message.

I had to chuckle, because your Hub's comments sound so much like it could have been in my house :) She is lovely - green and young. Happy PPF

This is so beautiful, and I think her tail is just right -- if it were super long, this is just where it would be. I love your mermaid! Happy PPF.

I love the shimmery hair! Very cool, I bet the other mermaids are jealous of that hair!

I like her hair. I would not have known she was a mermaid so I am glad you told us! Keep posting your husband's comments. It adds a lot of fun to your blogpost. My husband is always supportive and never makes funny comments about my work! Patsy
