Princess Stripey Nose

"Doesn't everyone paint their nose to match their crowns?" asked the self-conscious princess. . .

This girl was inspired by a pic by Brad Huck that I've had on my Pinterest for quite a while - I'm a big fan of the quirky girls!!  Check out the fun old book quote and picture I found to go with it!!
Three things to note about this pic - 1) Bill's stripey socks match her nose, 2) What's up with that weird key hole shirt on a boy??!! and 3) Is it just me or has the doctor tied him to the chair?  Can't say that a doctor has never looked up my proboscis but he hasn't done it with some weird kinda probe!
Started with a pencil sketch. . .
Commenced layering color with Neocolor crayons. . .
Finished by layering onto National Geographic pages that had been treated with Citra-Solv (you can read more about that adventure here) and then gluing into the old ledger art journal.

I must admit you have me laughing. Now why would I go paint my nose when it is big enough already. Besides, I have to get my crown out and polish it - it is a bit rusty!!

What a fun post, the idea of painting your nose to match your crown really appeals to me. Love your take on this she is very regal. Beautiful.

SO much fun! I love the stripy nose. I would totally paint my nose the color of my crown, if I had one. :)

Pretty funny how you put together all the ideas for your princess! Her nose is kind of like a cool tatoo!

Wow, I love everything about this post!! Right from the stripe-nosed-princess to the boy-with-stripy-socks (and yes, he does look like he's tied down on the chair!) to the altered National Geographic pages.. It's one happy "Glue it Tuesday" on Wednesday ;)

Wow, I love this, she has the most beautiful green nose I have ever seen =). Love the old photo and yes it does look like he's tied to the chair. Poor little chap. See that's why I don't like doctors, except one of course =).
