Less is More - Week 19 - In the Frame
This week's Less is More Challenge is to make a one layer card that incorporates a frame. This week's challenge also came with a gentle reminder to keep it CAS with minimal layers (actually only one layer this week). I'll admit, I was one of the offenders last week so, Chrissie and Mandi, hope you will forgive me!!
I made my card base from kraft cardstock and loosely painted a square with Gesso. I made my frame with a ruler and Sharpie and used the a muse|studio Life's a Breeze stamp set. In no time flat we have a one layer masculine card with plenty of "white space" that makes me think of the beach/ocean.

OLW57 Moxie Fab World - Cosmopolitan Neopolitan
This card is based on two of my favorite sites - the current Moxie Fab Challenge pictured below and the current One Layer Wednesday challenge.
Don't those ice cream pops look delicious?!! I love it when the ice cream is so cold that it seems to grow "frost" and your tongue kinda sticks to it! You can recreate that look with shimmer paper!
The OLW challenge is to make a summer themed card and ice cream is as summery as it gets!! This is a super busy weekend but since I made this card two days ago I decided to go ahead and post it before it gets old -

FTL143, LIM18 - Orange!!
"ORANGE" - not only a bright, summery hue but also a delicious, juicy fruit. So why, when I asked Connor to pick a color and he said "orange" - did terror strike my papercrafting heart? I had decided that whatever color he chose would be the focus of my entry to the Less is More - Week 18 - Monochromatic Colour Challenge, but seriously, "orange"??!! I am not the only one scared of orange - I just checked the Less is More Gallery and currently there are 203 entries and only 6 of them are orange!
Once I wrapped my brain around it and used the Clean and Simple Stamping's FTL143 accompanied by lots of wonderful a muse|studio products all was well!! Everything is better with a touch of orange gingham paper!
Isn't that just about the nicest sentiment ever to grace a card? (Friends Fur-Ever) - the flowers are from Marvelous Marigolds. Guess what ink I used? Yup - Orange along with some Orange and Pumpkin cardstock. Moral of the story - not sure, but suddenly I am in the mood for Cheetos!

CAS122, CFC5 - wishing you WHALE!
Doesn't this card just put a smile on your face? He is such a happy little whale swimming in the sea with the sun shining.
The layout is based on the CAS-ual Fridays CFC5 sketch by Laura Davis (remember Two Sketches for You?) so fun to play with one of her delightful sketches again! Splitcoaststamper's CAS challenge is "Play on Words" -
CARDS blog is hosting a challenge featuring Summer Cards with Waves this week - these waves were made with the a muse|studio scallop dies turned upside down - quick, fun and easy!!
Stamp sets used were Grunged Sunrays and Keep Swimmin'. Sky, Bermuda Shimmer and Sky Gingham papers coupled with Papaya ink, Yellow twinkle stickers and Copic markers finish things off.

PDCC84 - You make my heart happy!!
This card is based on the Play Date Cafe Challenge colors of pink, green and white. If you look at the inspiration pic you see a LOT of pink - A freakish amount of pink in my opinion and since this is my blog it is the only opinion that counts, right?
This picture does remind me of my grandmother though since she collected this kind of glass - I really liked those dishes when I was a kid especially when they had candy in them (just keeping it real). Anyhoo, I used my favorite a muse|studio Woodgrain/Harlequin Impression plate on this card and a tiny bit of black since you know most designers say that each room and/or greeting card needs a touch of black.
Stamp sets used are Marvelous Marigolds, Kindred Spirits (leaves) and Hand Scripted. The ink is Bubblegum and Grass and the cardstock is Lichen.

Better late than never!! I'm just barely getting my card done for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge - Graduation cards.
