The bookworm attends a party. . .

She knew it was going to be a long night when what she was looking forward to was snuggling in bed with her book. . .

Do you love to read?  I do - I've been a big reader ever since I was a little girl.  I used to walk to the library when I was around 9 with my best friend and come home with so many books. A super exciting day for me would be when my newest Nancy Drew book club selection would arrive in the mail - whoo hoo!
One of the best gifts I ever received was a bound set of Louisa May Alcott books from my grandmother - I read those books so many times when I was young.
I don't have as much time to read as I used to and I rarely read "paper" books any more.  Digital books checked out from the library fill my phone now.  That way I can read in the middle of the night without waking my husband if I need to.
He calls me "Ninja Reader" because there are mornings that he thinks that I am asleep because I am so still and quiet but really I am in another world because I am reading.

I also love to read, and read books on my iPad for the same reasons as you do, so I can read in bed and not disturb my husband. Little Women is one of my favourite books.

Your woman is very elegant and I really like the pattern on her dress and the interesting mat that you choose! It is interesting to see the process.

I love how you did her dress. Indeed very elegant lady .... Love reading too, but couldn't do it on my phone, I love the feel of a book in my hands. Although I must admit it gets tiresome sometimes holding a book and a flashlight and trying to stay undercover .... ;-)

she's very pretty!

I'm a reader, too. I used to read Nancy Drew, too.

Now, I usually have at least 3 books going at the same time....one by my bed, one on my kindle, and an audiobook in the car.

She's beautiful and so serene looking - hiding that pent up desire to be in bed with a good book!! I love to read as well but although I have over 100 books on my kindle just now (my sister has her kindle linked to mine so every time she buys a new book I get it too!!) I never seem to find time to lose myself in a book like I used to - I blame blogging and facebook. I need to stop reading folks' status updates and start reading books again!

Love her! I was also a huge reader, still am, and my Grandmother also bought me a bound set of all the Louisa May Alcott books - I still treasure them!

I can relate to that, I much prefer spending the night with a good book that at a party, and I couldn't imagine life without reading. Love your painting, she's beautiful!

I enjoyed your post - I too love to read - especially in bed. As a child I read under the covers with a torch! Got caught sometimes too:) "Go to sleep!!". Now I just go to bed early with my kindle. Your images reflected your words so well - and as usual, beautifully painted. I think her eyes are a little sleep (or just calm) from all that reading:)

Your lady is beautiful, and I liked seeing the image progress. I love the skin tones, and the way the picture is framed off centre.

What a beautiful painting of the lady, she's gorgeous.
I am the same with books. Well I was untill my burn-out. Which stopped me from reading all together. Now I'm slowly getting over that and even read a book in Italy. Woohoo! Well it's not the 6 I would normally do, but one is a start =)
