The Philologist

Even though referring to her love of learning and literature as philology was obsolete, she still considered herself to be a Philologist.

Dictionary.com has a word a day app that I love accessing through my phone.  I couldn't resist using today's word on this girl that I scribbled on a piece of scrap paper the other day.
I often scribble girls on the back of grocery lists, on envelopes, etc. and this girl was no exception.
Pan Pastels toned down her green face while still allowing a bit of the pattern to show through.
I've got lots of new favorite words now including:
Sciamachy - an act of fighting a shadow or an imaginary enemy
Perspicuous - clearly expressed or presented, lucid
Cockalorum - a self-important little man
Do you have a favorite unusual word??

Oooh, I love this! I have too many favourite words to list, but I do like the idea of painting an alchemist and an etymologist :)
Happy PPF!

Very nice face. I love how those Pan Pastels color too. They really did give her a great complexion-and of course you had to know what colors to use to get that too.

What a great word...although I still don't think I'm saying it right. I think I should put on my resume, "adventurer and philologist" see what kind of reaction I get...ha! I always thing adventurer is such a funny and fun description! Anyway, I love your green girl. She's such a pretty color! Thanks for sharing :)

great words Michelle-love how you used your latest with the portrait! I must say I do love words and my fave would have to be "loquacious"-because I called our son that when he was younger-and taught him a new word to boot:)If I had a smart phone I'd def. get that app:)
