Lovely flowers!! I coming to see what works of art you've created. September 8, 2010 12:47 AM
Here's a "quick and easy" way to make some simple gift tags for a small gift. All supplies are from A Muse except for the Papertrey Ink die I used to cut out the shaped part of the tag. By matching the stamped image (Leaf Frond) with the colored cardstock you can make a set of tags that "match but are still different" in no time flat! Here's the link to the flower tutorial I used to make these beauties!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - Lipsylicious

HELLO - Did this wake you up?!  Bright, huh?  It is based on the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger pictured below.
I used embossing powder and A Muse Couture Shimmer paper to pick up on the luscious lipstick hues.
This particular post is dedicated to Kim and Jen who like to pick on me because of my distaste of pink.  It looks like it is starting to grow on me - kinda like a fungus!
I even made that fabulous pink crinkle ribbon (attached to the binding to use as a bookmark)- I also have green and blue that will eventually make their appearances.  Hope you're having a great weekend - we got some rain today and it is starting to cool off!  Hooray - I love Autumn!!

PDCC#46 - A Muse Solid Chrysanthemum

This elegant beauty is based on the Play Date Cafe Challenge #46 (Black, White and a splash of color) and the new A Muse Lounge Challenge #20 - A Sketch Challenge.  Do you love the black and white damask background?  It is A Muse Decorative Tape against white cardstock.  I've done this in the past with kraft cardstock too.  A pretty look plus easy - a winning combination in my book!
I love the look of the Solid Chrysanthemum embossed in copper against the black.  I've had that SU! embossing powder forever (at least 5 years) so I guess that it is good that I hoard things for later usage!
There is lots of room for interpretation in both challenges I've used - there are three colors to choose from in the PDCC Splash of Color challenge and there are three sketches to choose from in the A Muse Lounge - The possibilities are endless.  I know there is an end but I am not willing to do the math now - I don't have to do math - I'm not in school - at least that's what I tell my 9-year old when he wants help with math - he doesn't really need help.  He's just "math lazy" - kinda like his mom!!  All items on this card are from A Muse!

CPS183 - Rainy days

Have you seen this week's sketch on Card Positioning System's blog - YIKES - complicated!! I had to think on it for a few days and flip the sketch on its side before I came up with this idea - maybe it took so long since we have had so LITTLE rain this summer! The grass is all brown and crunchy but we had a decent sized shower the other day and more is supposed to be coming tonight!! All items on the card with the exception only of the kraft paper are from A Muse!
Check out this pic I took of the clouds out my car window while picking up kiddos from school on Tuesday! LOVE blue skies and white fluffy clouds!! (I calmed down all that exuberant natural color with a nice beige frame - hee hee)
I've had a good week - I had a card featured on the CARDS blog and another card made it in Embellish Magazine's What's Hot - Quirky Cutesy Clean Color Challenge (please note that Embellish thinks I'm hot! I'll take it wherever I can get it!)

Embellish Color Challenge - Using Squares

Today's card is based on the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge - Using Squares - This tiny 3.5" square card is just the perfect size to tuck into a little gift -
Here are my thoughts on purple - Once upon a time, I had visions of being the mother of a little girl who would live in a purple room decorated with bunnies. Two boys later and there is VERY little purple in my life. In fact, after looking through my pretty extensive crafting collection I realize that there is nary a purple embellishment to my name - no purple ribbon, buttons or gewgaws anywhere! Purple is very different from pink - Pink is like a car wreck on the highway - no matter how determined you are not to look you have to sneak a peek when you drive by. Pink enters your crafting life whether you like it or not - it is like Kudzu - I believe it has procreated in my craft closet when I'm not looking - but apparently you can avoid purple -
The SU! flower seemed a little plain so I jazzed it up a tad with a Sakura Glaze pen and added the sentiment with Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type stickers.
The ribbon and color cardstock are from A Muse (Chiffon green, Chiffon purple and Blackberry).

PDCCC#45 - Handmade Flowers!

Well - We have been gone since Friday celebrating our anniversary - The kids stayed with Nana/Papa and Corey and I headed to St. Louis - we had a blast!  LOTS of fun - we ate too much, stayed up too late, lazed around in bed extravagantly and never once heard a complaint from the kiddos!  (Is it against the rules to have your anniversary once a month instead of once a year??!!)  Anyway - in case you are thinking I am some kind of amazing superwoman (you know better than that) I made this card before I left.
Don't you love this flower - the best part of all is that it is a pin - I attached it with removable adhesive so you could take it off and wear it on your shirt - I've been making lots of these lately and have already given away 9 of them to friends!  These colors come from the Play Date Cafe Challenge #45 and is based on Clean & Simple Stamping's FTL106.  Sentiment is from A Muse.
I have a hard time resisting the siren call of the computer but now I need to go tend to all the unpacking/laundry from all of us being gone for several days - A mother's work is never done!!  Hope you have had a great 3-day weekend!
BTW - Do you want one of these flowers?  Leave a comment and say whether you'd like the orange or red one and I'll pick a random number from the comments in a couple of days and I'll mail you a pin!!  THANKS for reading my blog!

A Muse September Calendar page -

Too busy to stamp today and since I never remember to post my current A Muse calendar page I thought I'd remedy that tonight.  The Mushroom Trio stamp from A Muse is one of my favorites but it can be tricky to color with those tiny dots.  Here's a tip straight from HRRJulie - She colors the entire mushroom top and then adds the dots back in with a white gel pen!  She is so smart!!
Here is another page from earlier in the year that is a favorite of mine - If you'd like a calendar of your own for next year check out the sidebar - I'll be teaching a calendar workshop in October at the Doodlebug - chockful of adorable A Muse images and fun A Muse gingham paper!!
