She kept her vibrancy hidden. . .

Today's journal pages features some watercolor fun and a pencil drawing that I've had for some time.  She always seemed kinda sad and pensive so even though I liked her look - I put her away for another time.
She strikes me as one of those people that seem so quiet and unassuming but really has a lot going on inside so I gave her the caption:
sadly she kept her vibrancy
hidden from others
Here is a conversation between me and the husband:
ME - "I call her Florence."
HUSBAND - "As in Florence and the Machine??!"
ME - "No! As in Florence Nightingale.  I picture her wiping my feverish brow when I am ill."
HUSBAND (guffawing) - "wiping your feverish brow??!!"
Obviously, there is not much sympathy shown to me when I have a feverish brow since it incites such humor in my husband - he doesn't seem to care much if I suffer a general malaise either.  Sigh . . .
edited to add - GUESS WHAT??!!  If you look at this picture with 3-d glasses your head will explode!!  Ok - maybe not explode but your eyes will definitely go a little crazy - thanks to Caleb for discovering this cool fact (its awesome to have an 11 year old boy's perspective - seriously - who would ever look at this pic with 3-d glasses but an 11 year old boy??!!)

Very interesting choices! The contrast between her pencil self and the colors in the background is very nice, especially with the words you've chosen. It's very nice!

This is very different from most of the girls I have seen.

Love that she is achromatic and lacking expression, yet the background is bold and bright and energetic! Wonderful!

Awesome piece. Husbands never care about "feverish brows". :))

Great page and story! I think your drawing of the woman's face is lovely...so expressive and, like you say, pensive!

Fabulous composition! The color as a backdrop for her face creates such a strong focal image!

LOL. Not sure if I'm ready for my head to explode...but I think I'll go find my granddaughter's 3ds! Very pensive, thoughtful look on that beautiful face.

husbands are like that :) Actually mine is quite attentive when I'm sick, but he's quite happy to make fun of me the rest of the time. Lovely work; I love those colors and the whole layout.

Well, I don't have any 3D glasses but this looks great without them! I love the way you used the vibrant colors in the background but just pencil for the woman. It fits so well with the text.

Well, let's hope you will not have a feverish brow in need of stroking any time soon.

I adore this art piece!!!!

30D who'd a thought?

My beloved would guffaw as well. I love her pensive quality, and think that it contrasted beautifully with the colours. She pops and tells a story. Stunning.

Wish I had some 3d glasses! :)

She does look quite pensive, but maybe she's just deep in thought! Love Caleb's cool discovery, but I don't want my head to explode, so I will avoid the 3-D glasses when I look at it!

I love the contrast between the pencil drawing and the bright colors, and the black lettering. Beautiful page!
