Splash of Green Girl

Life has been very busy lately - too busy to draw/sketch!!  AARRGGHH - Despite the chaos around me, I took a few minutes to sketch a girl yesterday but then had no time to post her until now.  She's a bit contemplative and perhaps sad?. . .maybe she is dreaming about when she will have more time. . .
Colors from the current Play Date Cafe Challenge.
Used gouache for the first time (Emerald) - not sure if I like it or not - I was in such a hurry to finish that I definitely appreciated that it was easily squirted from the tube but that's not much of a recommendation for a paint is it?

It takes some getting used to after watercolor. But I like it now. Like what you did here too!

Don't let hurrying make you forget..you ar e an artist and you create...a 5 minute piece or a 5 hour piece..it doens't matter...what matters is the desire and the practice...no matter what the time frame is...your piece is splendid...no excuses...she is what needed to surface...love it! celebrate being able to bring her forward in such a short time frame...

Oh Michelle, I can so relate to the not having time issue. I've been really frustrated the past few days because everyday life takes all my time and energy, and nothing's left for playing with paints and pencils. Love what you've done here, very creative way to use those stencils. Hope things will settle down soon and you'll have more time again to create your wonderful girls. ♥ denthe

I have been crazy busy too and love the girl even though you had so little time... hang in there with gouache... you will love it once you get used to it... I love it and use it in almost every piece I do... it is fabulous stuff when you gt into it... such pure flat colour... and white gouache is one of the greatest art tools going... have a great week ...xx
