FTL135 - Happy Thoughts of You

This card has done battle with me for over two days - I'm still not sure who won the war - Layout is from Clean & Simple Stamping's FTL135.   The idea was to randomly stamp dots (A|S Lots of Dots) and then layer the stamped image (A|S Beautiful Botanicals 2) on top.  However, the random dots didn't work for me so I ended up doing something more uniform which obviously didn't work either -
In real life the botanical "weed" is more prominent than it seems to be in the photo.  One fun thing to try is to curve your sentiment (Vintage A Muse).
LOVE the shimmer from A|S Stardust Finishing Spray and more Washi Tape!
"Hi, My name is Michelle and I am addicted to Washi Tape."  Isn't it nice that A Muse|Studio can help you become addicted to Washi Tape too - online shopping makes it easy!!
All paper, stamps, ribbon, tape, Nestabilities, etc. are from A Muse Studio!!

Less is More Challenge - "Sentiment Focus"

This card is made for the current Less is More Challenge - Sentiment Focus on a one layer card.  I love the sentiment from the On the Wing stamp set from A Muse|Studio.  This particular set includes 4 images (3 birds and a heart) plus 5 sentiments!  That bit of red along the bottom of the card is from Washi Tape -
This is the card I made originally - however, once I read the rules again I realized that I had completely ignored the whole one layer aspect of the card.  Oopsy!  I dig this card though - I think the use of the Washi tape is cool - my husband thinks otherwise - here was our conversation -
ME - Do you like this card - isn't the Washi tape cool?
HIM - It looks like your panel is held on with those pieces of tape -
ME - Ya, that's what it is supposed to look like - isn't that awesome?
HIM - I have no opinion of Washi tape -
ME - ?????
HIM - Your card looks like when I tape something off to paint around it -
He does like Washi tape when it is in clean stripes like on the first card but the torn strip look is more than he can handle -
Which one do you like better -

OLW48 - A Sympathetic Challenge

Just got home from our travels this afternoon - as soon as pets were settled, laundry was started and general mayhem somewhat controlled it was time to make a card.  This week's One Layer Wednesday challenge was to make a sympathy card without trees or flowers.
I decided to forgo black too since that is a typical color that I would grab for a sympathy card and instead went for a yellow/purple/gray combo.  Washi tape and twine adorn the left side of the card.  All supplies are from A Muse|Studio (Grunged Sunrays, Essential Sentiments, Just Because stamp sets).  Click on the link to go directly to my A Muse|Studio online store!!

A Muse | Studio - Woodland Friends

We are winding our way home from Florida - once again I am taking advantage of WIFI in the hotel room. Thought I'd post a pic of one of my favorite cards I made for the A Muse | Studio catalog - You can see a snippet of it on page 35. The stamps are from the Woodland Friends stamp set. Don't the patterned papers make a cute little outdoor scene? I can't wait to utilize that quote bubble more too - fun!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!!

350 Cards & Gift Week - The Cards Sets Challenge

Guess where I am right now??!! A hotel in the wilds of Georgia headed down to Florida. Doncha just love Free WIFI in hotels?!! In fact the other day I had to get a tire fixed and they had free WIFI in the tireshop for my smartphone to use - go figure!
Anyhoo, had to check up on the latest goings on with Paper Crafts and found where Cath Edvalson has introduced the Cards Sets Challenge on her Moxie Fab Blog. She is also challenging us to give our gift sets away. I am happy to report that while I may hoard individual cards I nearly always make gift sets with a specific person in mind. The cards featured in this post are for my Florida MIL. Just took quick pics last night in case I got a chance to post while we were gone.
I based this card set on a recent card that I loved so much. These are made a little bigger but all supplies are from A*Muse|Studio. Whenever I make a card set I make sure to stamp the envelopes too - I made 12 cards in all and they are packed away in our luggage so I can't take a picture of the packaging -
Here are a few other favorite card sets I've made - Photo Cards, Baby cards, more Baby Cards, Bird thank-yous, Bothway Blossoms, Kraft Monograms, More Monograms, Boxed Wedding Gift (a favorite of mine). I really enjoy making card sets and I hope the recipients enjoy getting them. I am always tickled when one of my cards winds its way back to me - especially if it is a card that I've forgotten making.
We are off for a few days of sun and fun so I won't be posting much if at all -
I'll catch back up when I get a few minutes!

FTL134 - Butterflies

No time for chatter tonight - I have loads of things to do and no time to do them so I sat and made a card. Makes no sense except that papercrafting is the thing that de-stresses and soothes me when life is running by too fast!!
This card is based on the above FTL134 layout from Clean & Simple Stamping and the Less is More Challenge (A Touch of Red). The butterflies are from Making Memories; a teeny, tiny touch of Tim Holtz Tissue Tape adds the typewritten border. Sentiment, ink and pearls are from A*Muse|Studio. THANKS, Rachael for being my first customer in the online shop!!
I like how the single red butterfly balances the weight of the red sentiment on the right - Gotta go - too much to do and too little time to do it in!!
