Pencil gal is not a big fan of exercise as evidenced by her quote! hee hee
Sketched with pencil and then layered onto a teabag she is embellished with leftover saved pieces from a past project. Save those small pieces - you never know when they are just the little boost you need to finish a page.
When I look closely at her I see lots things that I would change or tweak but then I realize how far I've come since late last year when I first started drawing faces. My progress - slow but steady.

Very lovely Michelle! :) and so smart to use a teabag as a background, I haven't tried that yet.. :)
You did a beautiful job - artists are never (or rarely) completely satisfied with their own work. I love the quote!
Oh! I like pencil girl! Very nice. She makes me want to check out the rest of your face collection! Thanks.
i really like pencil girl. and the quote is so true!
Visiting your blog always makes me smile :).
Stay inspired!

She's really pretty!
what great shading!
and i love her wispy hair!
I didn't know you last year, but you are sure good now. I look at her and feel like I know her, maybe she even looks a little like me? Or at least how I see myself in my minds eye! Well done. Love the words too. HPPF!
That quote is my new mantra... and love the tonal work in the face... it has a great style and structure to it...xx
Love your pencil lady. She's a woman after my own heart for her quote.
She is wonderfully done ~ love her ~ (A Creative Harbor)
what a beautiful pencil drawing!!
Really beautiful; she looks, while not realistic - somehow natural. I don't know what makes that effect, maybe it's the wonderful shading and the confident eyes!
HPPF!
what a lovely drawing. When I see people running in my neighborhood, I always think "where are you going? why so fast!" So love this! happy PPF.
I wouldn't change a thing- she is fabulous- especially with such a fun quote!
I love that quote!! I love the pencil work, I am always surprised when I see my early drawings, how far I have come. Love the tonal work on this. Beautiful.
Hi Michelle -- LOL at the run to the bathroom or from enemies; like the use of the teabag. Following you on Pinterest; hope you'll do the same. I'm the Neon Green & Pink Avatar this week, coming from S&T Sat. Blessings Terri http://morningdewdrops.com

can't believe you just started portraits last year. very beautifully done, like the scraps of color and the sentiment.
LOL! This cracked me up! Love it!
oh, my dear Michelle... your progress is anything BUT slow if you only started drawing faces late last year!! This is fabulous. Love the quote on the drawing. :-) xox
