Today I got the itch to paint a bug - not sure where that itch came from but I'm sure loving my beetle! (BTW - he is also known as a Flamboyant Flower Beetle - found in Africa)He's a pretty big ol' bug - the paper he is drawn on is 6" x 9". Larger even than the bugs we used to encounter when we lived in Florida - the home of enormous bugs!!
Started with a pencil sketch then colored with Neocolor crayons and added details/splats with India Ink and a Sharpie White Paint Pen.
Public Service Announcement - India Ink may be removed from your butcher block kitchen table with Copic Colorless Blender Solution. If you don't have a bottle of it handy (which you might want to have if you are messy like me) I think just scribbling your blender pen onto the stained surface and then wiping would work too. sigh. . . I need to get a grip when I decide to splat ink around!Check out all the creativity on Art Every Day Month.
